Vilcabamba - Machupicchu 5 days 4 nights
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO - HUYRO - HUANCACALLE
Departure from the Terminal of Santiago at 8:00 a.m., the bus is
going to take us to the village of Huyro, during the riding will
observe different sceneries of the sacred valley of the Incas, will
ascend to the Malaga pass (4200 msnm), later we will descend through
the valley of Huyro's, arriving to Chaullay's sector (1800 msnm)
place in which we will have lunch, then will walk toward Huancacalle
village (3100 msnm), at this place we will sleep.
DAY 2: HUANCACALLE - HATUMPAMPA
After our healthy breakfast (6:00 a.m.), after a short walk will
visit the archaeological groups of Vitcos and Yuraqrumi, places in
which the guide will explain about them, an d also the different
excavations realized, then we will start over the trek towards
Asutuma's bank river (4000 msnm), place in which we will have lunch,
then we will descend towards the river Raccachaca (3600Msnm), by
this place will go to fishing to the river, in the evening we will
walk for a lapse of 2:30 hrs. Up to our camp site Hatumpampa.
DAY 3: HATUMPAMPA - CAHUAPICHACA
Earlier in the morning we will ascend towards Pumacasa pass
(4400 msnm), during the walk will enjoy of the flora and fauna of
this zone, will have lunch by the sector of Mojon, from over there
will observe the valley of Yanatile and the mountain range of
Machupijchu, then we will descend to the valley of Chaupichaca, at
the camp site will enjoy of the thermal baths.
DAY 4: CHAUPICHACA AGUAS CALIENTES
Continuing with our trek will descend through the eyebrow of the
jungle, enjoying the great variety of fruits which grows in this
valley, will arrive into Yanatile, place in which we will catch a
vehicle that will transfer us to Santa Teresa, from this place we
will walk for an space of 20 min. to cross the oroya (a kind of
cable car that is used to cross the river bed, people from both
river banks pull the ropes) and then we will take another vehicle up
to the sector of Hydroelectric, lunch at this sector, after lunch
the train will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will
stay over.
DAY 5: MACHUPIJCHU - CUSCO
After breakfast, we will catch the bus which will take us to
Machupijchu inca ruins, at this sector will enjoy of the guidance of
the guide by a lapse of 2 hrs. Afterwards, you will have time to
climb up the mountain of Huaynapijchu, in the evening will come back
to the city of Cusco.
End of our trek.
