PARIAMANU MACAW LICK / LAKE SANDOVAL FULL CAMPING
(5days – 4nights)
DAY 01. PORT MALDONADO / BOCA PARIAMANU
Reception in the airport and transfer to the Puerto Pastora to
take our boat that will take by the rivers Madre de Dios, and Las
Piedras, until the mouth of the Pariamanu River where we will have
our first camping. At night we will make the traditional "Caimaneo"
that consists of observing Caymans in the creek of the river. During
the trip we will be able to appreciate a great diversity of Flora
and wild fauna like Capybaras, birds like eagles, parakeets,
vultures, Caymans giant trees and many other species.
DAY 02. BOCA PARIAMANU / MACAW LICK
After the breakfast we will always continue trip river arrives
approximately by three hours until arriving at the environs of the;
macaw lick where we will arm our second camping, soon we will
initiate a long walk by the forest, will be able to appreciate great
diversity of medicinal plants, for wood as well as trees of chestnut
or Brazilian Nut, birds and animals like monkeys, peccaries and
other species. Return to the camping to eat for lunch and to take a
brief rest. In the evening we will be able to make fishing in the
river and at night we will visit small mammal’s clay lick. Return to
the camping.
DAY 03. MACAW LICK / RIO LAS PIEDRAS / MONKEYS ISLAND
Soon of the breakfast we will visit the Macaw Lick, and parrots, we
will be able to observe the activity during little more than two
hours, will see as these birds eat the clay of the rich cliff in
salts and minerals, specially calcium that serves to him to
neutralize the toxins that its organism at the time of feeding
itself mainly on green fruits receives. Soon we will return to visit
a small lake that has a variety of birds and other species; we will
be able to observe giant otter. We continued of return until the
monkey’s island, we will encamp here. Optional caimaneo.
DAY 04. MONKEYS ISLAND / SANDOVAL LAKE
Soon of the breakfast we will visit the Island of the Monkeys, will
be able to appreciate different species from monkeys, spider monkey,
Brown and White Capuchins, squirrel monkey and other species, soon
we will go to the entrance of the Lake and will initiate a long walk
of one hour and average approximately until arriving at the lake,
last camping. We will make long walk to the Forest and we will take
a canoe to take a walk by the lake, will observe a great diversity
of flora and fauna, at night we will observe black Caymans in the
lake.
DAY 05. SANDOVAL LAKE / PUERTO MALDONADO / AIRPORT
After the breakfast, we will return to Puerto Maldonado and transfer
to the Airport.
